Bengaluru: Cognizant has announced the launch of its new Cognizant AI Lab and Cognizant Moment Studio in Bengaluru, creating an integrated innovation hub aimed at accelerating the company’s AI builder strategy.
The new facilities are part of Cognizant’s commitment, made in 2023, to invest $1 billion in generative AI over three years.
Cognizant AI Lab: Strengthening Global AI Research Footprint
The Cognizant AI Lab, which expands on the company’s existing AI Lab in San Francisco – recently awarded its 61st U.S. patent – will focus on applied research in multi-agent systems, AI decisioning architectures, responsible AI and AI-for-good initiatives.
The Bengaluru lab will support enterprise clients with intelligent, reliable decision-making frameworks and advanced agentic AI models.

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S stated that the company’s AI strategy is built on strong platforms, partnerships and a skilled workforce capable of bridging the gap between infrastructure investments and measurable business outcomes.
He emphasized that pairing multi-agent systems with human-centric design would be key to future breakthroughs in enterprise transformation.
Cognizant AI Lab to Work in Tandem With New Experience Studio
The new Cognizant Moment Studio, part of the company’s digital experience practice, will collaborate with the Cognizant AI Lab to help clients reimagine customer experiences using AI-driven insights and design methodologies.
The combined ecosystem will integrate creativity, technology and partner capabilities to develop intelligent platforms and immersive user experiences.
The lab’s team – comprising PhD-level researchers and AI engineers – will also contribute to strengthening Cognizant’s IP portfolio through the development of proprietary frameworks, reusable AI components and experiential platforms that set new technological benchmarks.

Cognizant AI Lab to Promote Academic Partnerships
Cognizant Chief AI Officer Babak Hodjat highlighted that Bengaluru’s engineering talent will play a critical role in expanding research on scalable multi-agent systems, evolutionary AI and trustworthy decision-making, in line with Cognizant’s Neuro AI platform suite.
The Cognizant AI Lab will also collaborate with leading Indian universities, enabling joint research programs, experimental learning and internship opportunities in applied AI.
Benjamin Wiener, Global Head of Cognizant Moment, noted that the combined strengths of the AI Lab and the Moment Studio will enable the creation of intelligent, emotionally resonant digital experiences that are seamless and impactful for enterprise clients.
